We got a chance to speak with De Leon, who is currently working on his first EP which will be focused on hip hop/rap type beats, but fused with other elements such as deep house, jazz, and ambient sounds. He's also working on a side project for himself called Ibas-Ibaw, which is focusing mainly on deep house and hard techno.
"I started Liontech with the intention of it being a music collective that could help show people that there's more to music than what you hear on the radio. So that being said the goal of it is to educate people on different genres of music from hip hop jazz fusion, ambient electronic music, underground rap, glitch, to metal/grunge music. At the moment though it's becoming more than a music collective since we're now working with artists and animators. It's becoming an art's collective. As for upcoming shows we just had one last friday at USC in which 300+ people showed up. Next event we're doing is during October 10th at Art Night Pasadena. We'll be working with various artists presenting art with light while the Liontech DJ's provide music that match the art."
Subhertz is starting work on an EP as well, with a focus on glitch hop/mid tempo tunes. His style ranges from 8 bit bangers to psychedelic hip hop.
